Ingredients for Chicken Cacciatore with Bongiovi Dad’s Original Sauce
4 chicken thighs or drumsticks
1 jar of Bongiovi Dad’s Original Sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 red bell pepper
150 g mushrooms
100 ml white wine (optional)
Salt & pepper
Fresh herbs: rosemary, thyme, basil
Preparation
Brown the chicken on both sides in a large pan with olive oil over medium heat.
Finely chop the onion, bell pepper, garlic and mushrooms, then add them to the chicken. Sauté everything for 3–4 minutes.
Optionally, pour in the white wine and let it reduce briefly.
Add the Bongiovi Dad’s Original Sauce to the pan and let everything simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, until the chicken is tender.
Season with salt and pepper.
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
Tips & variations
For extra spice, you can enhance the sauce with chili or Bongiovi Arrabbiata Sauce.
For a more rustic flavor, add olives, capers, or a splash of red wine.
Great side dishes include polenta, pasta, rice, or fresh ciabatta.
